Beginning March 31: Amended Student Arrival Procedure

March 30, 2021

Amended Arrival Procedure

As CPS begins to transition back to full-time learning, Spencer will adjust how arrival looks for our families to ensure a safe and seamless process.

We will be adjusting how and where our bus and car riders will be dropped off. Below are the two new plans. This plan will go into effect on Wednesday, March 31.

Bus Riders

All bus riders regardless of age or grade will be dropped off at the front of the school on Alms Place. These students will enter the building and either transition to the cafeteria to get breakfast or head to the gymnasium, where they will wait until dismissed at 9:35 a.m. for first bell.

Students in grades 7-12 are still required to enter through our security detectors as they enter the building. Students in grades 3-6 are not required to go through this procedure.

Car Riders

All students who arrive at school via car, should be dropped off at the Myrtle Street door.

Important Reminders

  • The building will open for students at 9:20 a.m. Please do not drop your student off before this time as the doors will remain locked and staff is not present.
  • Students are still required to have face coverings and will have their temperature checked at arrival.
  • Our dismissal procedures will remain in place and have not been altered.
  • First bell officially starts at 9:40 a.m. Please ensure your student is on time.
  • You can find the car pick up map here.
