2026-27 Registration

The Spencer Center for Gifted and Exceptional Students will be holding in-person registration events for the 2026 - 2027 school year. We are not an option within the Cincinnati Public Schools new School Selection Process as we have a testing eligibility requirement for enrollment.

Beginning in January 2026, we will have in-person registration events, at Spencer Center, for those families seeking a space at Spencer Center for the 2026 - 2027 school year. Because we are designated as an east-side Magnet Elementary School, families who live east of I-75 who are interested in Grades 3-6, must attend an in-person registration event. We are also a city-wide high school; any CPS families interested in registering their students (entering Grade 7, and Grades 8-9, from Jr. High buildings only), must attend one of our in-person registration events. Please note, a completed registration packet and all required documents must be submitted during a registration event. Attending a registration event does not guarantee enrollment for the 2026 - 2027 school year.

Spencer Center Evening Registration Dates for the 2026.2027 School Year

• 5:30pm - 7:00pm, Wednesday, January 14, 2026
• 5:30pm - 7:00pm, Tuesday, February 3, 2026
• 5:30pm - 7:00pm, Wednesday, February 18, 2026

Spencer Center Weekend Registration Date for the 2026.2027 School Year

• 11:00am - 1:00pm, Saturday, January 24, 2026

*Spencer Center Inclement Weather Registration Date For the 2026.2027 School Year

• 5:30pm - 7:00pm, Monday, February 23, 2026, at the CPS Board of Education, Banquet Room
• *This event will only be held if a scheduled registration event listed above is cancelled due to inclement weather*

Any interested elementary families who live west of I-75, must register via an electronic form that will be posted on our school website. This registration period will run from February 1 - 28, 2026.

Out-of-District families, elementary and high school (7-11), who are interested in Spencer Center for the 2026 - 2027 school year must register online through the main CPS website during the district’s Open Enrollment period, February 1 - 28, 2026.

At the in-person registration events, interested families will be able to submit our registration packet with all necessary documents, and have student test scores reviewed. Members of the Customer Care team will be available to assist families with creating a Focus account or to address any questions you may have regarding Focus.

Families who live west of I-75 and those interested Out-of-District families are encouraged to complete the registration form and have all necessary documentation ready for February 2026 registration. If a space is secured at Spencer Center, all documentation will be required to be submitted at the time of space notification.

We do encourage all interested families to have their student’s test scores reviewed prior to registration events or February 2026 online registration.  To do so, please contact the Spencer Center main office at 513.363.3400.

As a reminder, the Spencer Center for Gifted and Exceptional Students is now located at 3555 Kellogg Ave., Cincinnati, OH  45226. We moved to our current location, within the Riverview East Academy building, over the summer of 2024 and are now on our second successful school year at our new location!
