Student Shadow Program

Curious about life at Spencer Center? Our Shadowing Program, held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, gives prospective students a firsthand experience. You’ll be matched with a Student Ambassador in your next year’s grade level to get a true feel for our campus and curriculum. 

  • Lower School Shadows rising into grades 3 & 4 arrive at 9:30 am. Pick up at 12:30 pm.
  • Lower School Shadows rising into grades 5 & 6 arrive at 9:30 am. Pick up at 3:00 pm. 
  • Upper School Shadows rising into grades 7-12, arrive at 9:30 am. Pick up at 3:00 pm. 

Confirmation of registration will be sent on the Monday following the Shadow Program form completion. 

Preparing for Your Shadow Day

1. Registration

Complete the Spencer Center Shadow Form to choose a date.

2. Emergency Medical Authorization Form 

Before arrival, complete the emergency medical form and bring it with you: Emergency Medical Authorization Form

3. Lunch

Students may eat for free in our CPS cafeteria, or pack a lunch and a drink for your student. 

4. Arrival Checklist

  • Address: Bring your student to 3555 Kellogg Ave, 45226. Navigate to the corner of Stanley & Kellogg Avenues. 
  • Time: Arrive at the office no earlier than 9:20 a.m. Arrive by 9:30am.
  • Parking: Park in the visitor parking area, located either under the building or in the lot to the left of the building.
  • Entrance: Enter the main doors by the flagpole, which are on the south side of the building (facing the river).

5. Pick up 

The time is 12:30pm for grades 3-4 and 3:00pm for grades 5-12. Pick up in the Main Office.

6. Shadow Excuse Letter

A Student Shadowing excuse letter will be given to the parent/guardian to provide to your student's school. 

7. Optional

Prospective students may wish to bring a notebook, drawing pad, and/or a book to read while their student ambassador is completing a solo assignment or quiz. 

8. Parent/Guardian Tours 

Parents or guardians are also welcome to join us on an adult tour of Spencer! Please check our school tour information and calendar here. All tours begin at 9:45 am and are for adults only.
